How can I know the exact selection steps for the position I'd like to apply for?

We have customized process for each position just to make sure that we get the right FRUITies on-board.

Our recruiter will surely communicate all details once your CV is selected after screening. In general, this is a summary:

  • For Engineering, Data and Finance positions: Apply -> Online Test -> Interview -> Peer Assessment
  • For Product positions: Apply -> Interview -> Assignment (with Presentation) -> Peer Assessment
  • For Business positions: Apply -> Online Test -> Interview -> Assignment (with Presentation) -> Peer Assessment
  • For Organization Development and Legal positions: Apply -> Interview -> Peer Assessment
  • For Sales positions: Apply -> Interview
Why are there so many steps? Can Cho Tot combine some steps together?

We are trying to evaluate the candidates in as many aspects as possible. Besides the experience and competencies, we certainly care about culture fit and characteristics of a candidate when put specifically in a certain team. Each step has its own meaning of reviewing the candidate so we could hardly eliminate any of them. However, in some cases, we can carry out 2 steps continuously in one day for the candidate's best convenience.

Can these steps be conducted online or I have to come to your office in person?

During the Covid-19 outbreaks, our recruitment process is conducted virtually.

When we are back to normal, tests and interviews will remain virtual. Only peer assessment will happen offline, which will give you a glance at our office and people through which you could have more understanding of the company. If you cannot be present at the office for the whole process, please inform your recruiter so that they can propose you an appropriate solution.

Are these jobs open for HCMC-based candidates only?

Absolutely not!

Cho Tot has an office in Hanoi, too. And we certainly don't close the doors for those who'd love to join us. Just submit your CV, we'll discuss about working location later.

How do I know if a Cho Tot email or website is legit?

The url for the Cho Tot Careers Site is www.careers.chotot.com and the link for a job will begin with 'www.careers.chotot.com'. We also post jobs on LinkedIn, Vietnamworks, ITviec and some other job portals.

If you click a job link that takes you to a page that looks like Cho Tot but doesn’t start with our address or any of the job posting sites mentioned above, it could be a fraudulent page which you should close. To make sure you reach the correct address, always start at www.careers.chotot.com into your browser and go from there.

The email from our Talent Acquisition team is [email protected] or [email protected]. Our domain is @chotot.vn, any email address ending without that domain is not officially sent from Cho Tot emloyees. Once you find them suspicious, you should block the senders!

Questions for "Application" step

Which language should I apply in? Will a resume/CV in English help my application stand out?

Both English and Vietnamese are acceptable. However, since we are a subsidiary of a international start-up with many functions working across Asia, English will be preferable.

I know someone who works in Cho Tot. Can she/he refer me?

Sure! Reach out to him/her so you don't need to apply on your own. Remember to send your CVs, cover letter and portfolio (for specific positions) to your acquaintance and mention some of your expectation so she/he can introduce you to your dream job.

Can I connect with people who work in the team I want to join?

We won't reveal our precious FRUITies' personal contact information. However, you might want to look for them on Linkedin and initiate the conversation to get to know Cho Tot better.

I want to re-apply for a role, is it OK?

Definitely! We believe that our former candidates have their own growth experience elsewhere and our requirments for a role can change over time so we always welcome re-application. Just make sure that the next application should be after the previous one at least 1 year.

How do I apply for an internship?

You can apply via our Careers Site or via any legit job portals. If you apply by sending your profile via email, make sure that the receiver's address end with @chotot.vn.

I've applied, how long does it take to hear back?

With plenty of applications and limited resources, we usually contact you if your profile matches the job within 1 week. If you do not hear anything from us in the mentioned period of time, you can directly email to us via [email protected]. In case we don't match at the moment, your profile is preserved in our database for future opportunities

Can I check the status of my application?

Unfortunately, we not yet have an application tracking tool for the candidates. However, you can reach us via email to know more about your application status.

I've got a phone call about an online test invitation, what should I expect?

You should be aware that the test invitation will come from a system email address of Hackerrank. In the invitation there will be a link of the test. Please check your inbox regularly (even spam box) to not miss the test before it expires.

I've received the test invitation via Hackerrank, but I've applied for a non-tech position. Is there any mistake here?

No, don't worry! We use Hackerrank to send out the majority of our online tests. The non-tech tests do not involve any coding exercise and questions.

Who will I meet during the interviews?

It depends on the position you apply for. With internship positions, you are going to meet your direct supervisor and our recruiter. If you apply for a full-time position, in most cases, you will meet your direct supervisor, your HOD, your teammates, and some members from Organization Development team. Specifically, if you are proceeding with a high-level positions, our BOD may involve in the process.

Will Cho Tot hold virtual interviews?

Of course we do, as long as the virtual interviews are helpful and convinient for both sides.

What is the purpose of the assignment? How can I rest assured that my ideas won't be abused?

The assignment aims to display to us your abilities to solve real business questions. The assignment topic is just a hypothesis and your submission will be treated with high confidentiality.

Can I get feedback on my interview/assignment/presentation?

Of course you can. We will try to deliver the feedback as detailed as possible. If you find them not as detailed as you expected, please contact your recruiter for more information.

Questions for "Peer Assessment" step

What will happen in the Peer Assessment session?

The offline Peer Assessment is in form of a lunch. The online one is hosted as an online meeting with drinks. There will be around 3 to 4 FRUITies joining in the meeting.

We only want to learn more about your personalities, style of working, hobbies, expectations, etc. in a more-casual setting (compared to the intense context of interviews and presentations). You are very much encouraged to proactively converse with our FRUITies to know more about the position, the team and the company culture as well.

One tip? Just be yourself!.

Why is there a Peer Assessment session?

The Peer Assessment session is hosted because we want you and our FRUITies to have a chance to meet teammates to-be. We truly believe that, aside from professionalism, we work best and achieve more with people who click with our culture.

When will I hear back after my final interview/ Peer Assessment session?

Within a week. If some accidents or postponement happens, we will let you know as soon as possible. Otherwise, please don't hesitate to ask our recruiter for proper support.

What kind of compensation package do you offer?

Can I request to work remotely?

During the Covid-19 outbreak or other exceptional circumstances, yes! Otherwise, we all will work in office. We are social beings and we engage the most when facing each other in person, don't we? Moreover, we have events almost every month that you don't want to miss.
