UAI Hackathon 2025: Reimagining the Way Chotot Empowers Vietnamese Everyday Life

At ChoTot, we believe the future is shaped by people who build with empathy, innovate with purpose, and always put users first. That’s the spirit behind UAI Hackathon 2025 — an internal challenge that brought together over 100 FRUITies across 13 departments to reimagine how AI and User First principles can create real-world impact.

🌱 Why a Hackathon?

UAI Hackathon 2025 wasn’t just a competition — it was a cultural movement.

The program was designed to:

• Spark bold, cross-functional collaboration
• Empower ChoTot members to apply AI practically
• Reinforce our commitment to the User First mindset

Whether we are in Product, Legal, Sales, Marketing, or Tech — everyone had a chance to build something that matters.

🛠️ Getting Equipped: Training & User Experience Activities

Before we built, we learned — and we listened.

Over the course of 6 intensive UAI Gear Up training sessions, participants gained the necessary mindset, skillset, and toolset to apply AI and User Insight in their daily work. From no-code automation to chatbot design to real-world product building, from AI application to User Insight – the learning curve was steep, but everyone rose to the challenge.

But we didn’t stop there:

To ensure solutions were grounded in real user needs, teams also joined a suite of User First activities:

• 💸 Khám phá Đồng Tốt: members received internal credits to experience ChoTot as true users — buying, selling, and discovering secondhand gems.
• 🤖 Rapid Listing AI testing: FRUITies listed pre-loved books using our newest AI-powered feature, gaining insight into listing behavior and user friction.
• 💬 Product feedback & User story sharing: teams reflected on real experiences and gave actionable feedback to our product team — because innovation starts with listening.

These combined experiences helped teams build with empathy, not just code.

💻 Code Day – June 5: All Hands, One Goal

This was the day of deep focus, fast builds, and full-team energy.
Our 20 teams worked side-by-side at ChoTot office to finalize their projects, consult with mentors from ChoTot and Google Cloud, and rehearse their demos. You could feel the buzz – laptops open, whiteboards covered in ideas, and plenty of snacks to fuel the hustle.

🎤 Hack Day – June 6: Pitch. Persuade. Power On.

Dressed in team spirit and armed with polished pitches, all 20 teams took the stage to present their final ideas to a panel of judges. Projects ranged from AI-powered listing tools and smart price recommendations to secondhand swapping platforms and customer care chatbots.

It wasn’t easy narrowing it down – but after a full day of pitching and Q&A, we crowned our Top 10, and finally the champions of UAI Hackathon 2025.

🥂 U&I Gathering: Celebrating Every Step of the Journey

That same evening, we wrapped up with U&I Gathering, our quarterly company-wide gathering. But this time, it meant even more — a moment to raise a glass to teamwork, creativity, resilience, and culture.

There were smiles, cheers, hugs, and a lot of proud FRUITies.
